Blair Pointe 6th Graders Go to BizTown

All 6th grade students have been working in their history classes to prepare for their big day at JA BizTown in Ft. Wayne.
Students work in a variety of skills that focus on community, citizenship, financial literacy, and running a business.
Each student has a set job and everyone in the business has to work together to pay off the business loan. They receive 2 paychecks and on their break, they get eat lunch and shop the town to help the economy.
Mina Arwood was selected as mayor. She spent her day running the town and setting a good example for the citizens.
“Seeing the students work together for one purpose is great. You see kids that focus on their job and they get excited too,” said Misty Russell, 6th grade teacher. Mrs. Russell has been attending BizTown for over 15 years.
“I liked how real life today was,” said Kaisleigh Gilleland. Another student, Lillian Luke, said she enjoyed how the work they did was actual work or made the day go quickly.
