Welcome to 3rd Grade!

Hello! I am Whitney Warren. I am excited to get to know all my students this year, and help them grow in their education. I am looking forward to another great year!

I graduated from Oak Hill High School in 2017. I completed my associates degree in Education at Muncie Ivy Tech ASAP Program in 2018. I continued my education at Western Governors University and completed my Bachelor’s Degree in Elementary Education in 2020.

As much as I love teaching, I equally love spending my summers at the lake. I am a camp counselor at the Warsaw YMCA in the summer.

My goals for your child and our classroom this year will continuously be worked towards everyday. Foster a safe and inclusive community: I aim to create a welcoming environment that fosters respect, collaboration, & communication between students, parents, & myself. Challenge: I will challenge students to use their critical thinking & problem-solving skills within their academics and social skills to promote growth in both areas. Cultivate character and social-emotional skills: I will prioritize positive relationships to create a supportive environment where students continuously feel comfortable expressing themselves. Effective Communication: I will aim to communicate weekly about upcoming events, behavior concerns, & encourage you to reach out if you have any concerns throughout the school year.

Teaching Philosophy

A cinematographer by the name of Conrad Hall said, “You are always a student, never a master, you have to keep moving forward.” Mr. Hall implies that no matter where in life you are, the end of your learning experience will not be reached. Evolution of learning is continually occurring, and how something is accomplished will vary from time to time. Learners who are taught that there is no end to the learning process understand the importance of learning new concepts. As a teacher, I will always be learning alongside my students. We are all learners every day whether we are in class or not. I believe that all children have the capability to learn. In my classroom, I will promote my students' will to learn by setting up a safe and constructive learning environment. I want learners in my class to have a growth mindset, feel safe, and have confidence in their capabilities to learn.
